In this game, however, it's been changed so now all the opponents are with you at the starting line, which would provide a more fair race. In previous titles, all the opponents were ahead of you in the race, with the opponent in first place being like halfway across the track right from the start. Ridge Racer 7 also makes a difference in racing AI opponents. This is much more visible during night time tracks, where the street lighting is much brighter.
